It is now official, AMK Communications Limited, a fully integrated marketing and communications company, headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica has been chosen to represent and to officially launch the new range of Panasonic Mobile phones in the Jamaican market. AMK’s selection follows on the heals of an extensive search and review of local advertising agencies by Panasonic Latin America and their strategic partners to represent them in the Jamaican market.
Panasonic has long been known as providing high quality technological products and its collection of new mobiles should bring the benefits of advanced digital technology to the Jamaican market as it has done before with other products.
Karen A. Turner, Executive Advertising & Sales Promotion Manager with Panasonic Latin America, S.A. highlights the importance of the signing by stating “ Panasonic Mobile intends to play a very active and supporting role in the Jamaican market and as such Jamaican’s can look forward to some very interesting offerings in the very near future. It was therefore important for us to find an advertising agency that met our requirements for both creativity and knowledge of the local market”
This extensive search began in the phonebooks, where Panasonic came up on AMK Communications. Further searches then led them to the AMK’s website. AMK’s website www.amkcom.com then proved to be an integral part of the selection process as prior to coming to Jamaica, Panasonic and their other strategic partners were able to view relevant information about AMK from their website, which also gave a sample of the work they had done for other clients.
“This deal worth an estimated JA$12 million in billings over the next 12 months, more than compensates for the investment we made in developing our website. At the time we were contemplating the investment we looked at other local agencies and found most of them did not have active websites. We felt that we could use the AMK website to create a level of differentation and to help market our services to a much wider international market. This deal is a vindication of that investment,” remarked Aldo Smith, President and CEO of AMK Communications.
AMK, a full service advertising company is no stranger to this type of high profile union. From its inception in 1992, AMK has emerged as a primary provider of marketing strategy and concepts to both local and international clients, which include among others Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance Company and their ScotiaMINT brand, GSB Coop Credit Union, FIMI wireless, United General Insurance Company and the Jamaica Football Federation.
